Top 5 Glimpses into my Secret Nude Diary

I am addicted to my Visual Diary. it goes everywhere with me, especially to bed. It lies there waiting to accept my every idea, each notion as it occurs to me. poses, concepts, themes – they all go into my diary or are lost forever.

When the cry of latest Problogger blog project on Top Five lists reached my ears I thought I might use this opportunity to give you a glimpse into my diaries and show you the raw processes of my mind. These images are gritty, purely conceptual, unfinished but contain an unfettered sense of motion and emotion in this raw state.

these are my top 5 images from across my visual diaries ranging from newest to oldest. this is the first time I’ve shown them in public. it’s the first time I’ve shown them to anyone other than my husband. I never know where these ideas come from, the poses come out of my head and onto the page with little intervention from my forebrain. I frequently look on bemusedly while my hand creates these images, watching them evolve from seemingly random sketching to a form on the page.

Thank-you for sharing your raw images with everyone. It’s also good to see that others keep a bedside journal to capture the impromptu thoughts and images.
I have enjoyed looking through your blog and website. Very nice work. Thanks again for sharing.

As a writer I carry a notebook everywhere, I don’t know why it surprised me that a visual artist didn’t do the same thing. It took me a moment to find your images (duh). Very remarkable. I’ll have to read more. Thanks for the post.
