… And this is the After Photo! I got to bed so late but when the spirit moves you you have to go with it. I find the more I go with my inner spirit the more it moves me – I reach a rolling gait and it’s oh so fun!
The king isn’t quite there yet but I am loving the queen’s face. She is beginning to look right, radiant and regal with a hint of mischief. The details are starting to emerge and I am flying through clouds of inspiration.
Anyway, the hands need a lot of work and I need to add some glazing and finish the king but I think this is now almost there. The Next portrait, of the Baron and Baroness, will be more period in technique. I found the Flemish Technique gave away after a bit with the struggles I’ve been having, I started reverting to direct painting which is fine, but part of this is to paint in a period manner also.
