christmas Break
As many of you know our house has been sold by our landlords and we have to move very soon, which means we are house hunting all through christmas. Christmas is normally one of my favorite times of the year, I’m usually a Rockwell painting of good cheer around the holidays, but at the moment I am more like a Munch painting of anxiety. so, in an attempt to maintain my sanity I am going to be taking a 2 week break. I may drop a line in occasionally if the inspiration strikes to blog but I won’t be posting to my usual schedule.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday, full of good cheer, good company and good fun. I hope that I will have a home to go to when I get back to blogging!
I am having a moving sale to try and raise funds and minimize the amount I have to move. go to http://nude.boundlessgallery.com for 15% off everything or make me an offer. I am raising my prices after January so now is the time to make a deal!
friday nude quotes
Most truths are so naked that people feel sorry for them and cover them up, at least a little bit.
Work in Progress.. sneak peek!
Here is what I’m working on at the moment. these blindfold images consume me, they are so dark and raw, painful pieces with really interesting subtexts that I am enjoying watching evolve. it sometimes feels like I have very little part in the development of these pieces, as if they come from my hind brain straight to my hand and the rest of me just watches from the sidelines.
At the moment I am obsessed with cast shadows. something that Daz Studio has helped me a lot with. I find that shadows add a sense of drama but also realism and depth to a piece, they’ve really helped me pick up my game artistically.

One does not kill oneself for love of a woman, but because love — any love — reveals us in our nakedness, our misery, our vulnerability, our nothingness.
Miley Cyrus recants opinion of her nude photo shoot
The Disney actress was originally embarrassed when the photos were published last June and called it “a mistake.” Miley, now 16, was only 15 years old when she appeared in the magazine with a photo of only a blanket wrapped around her chest.
But now the “Hannah Montana” star feels different. “Guess I just had to deal with that and just realize that I got to work with an amazing photographer. She was amazing and so talented and her lighting…I would love to work with her again. But I realize I’m just a kid,” she explained.
Ms Cyrus has even discussed ditching performing so she can have a chance to work behind the camera.
“That’s what I want to do with my life. I would love to be a photographer. I want to come to London to study. I hear there are some great art schools here so I would love to do that,” she said.
Darling Miley is back at it again. backpedalling furiously from her original statement that these photographs were a “mistake.” honestly, she can’t decide. I get the feeling that she keeps trying to form her opinion based on what the public wants. her career has apparently been flagging and by raising this can of worms again I think she is hoping to recapture some of the media action. or her PR crew do. either way it’s sort of sad to see. I hope this is her real opinion, I hope she is talking about what she really wants and not just being manipulated yet again by her puppeteers.

What Beanstockd has to say on the matter, the comments are particularly hysterical.
The Fine Art Department
Artist Tracy Helgeson has put together a blog showcasing artists who are selling their work online. Things like this are so helpful in this market, where luxuries such as art are hit hardest. check it out here : http://thefineartdepartment.blogspot.com/
what am I doing with the market downturn? I’m focussing on making my more affordable pieces, the smaller works and the watercolors, I’m building on my techniques and abilities and skillset so that I am ready for the market when it changes. Because I will be moving house soon I have also started a sale at boundless gallery where you can pick up my works for 15% off. this is a precursor to a price raise that will have to happen at the start of next year so if you have been eyeing off a piece, now is the time!
Nude of the Week – Fade
Oils on Canvas
20 x 16 in
$300
Fade is a subtle, soft piece, a faded memory and a tenuous image. it’s amorphous and unusual in it’s deceptive simplicity. It has an aged, antique look with a contemporary edge and an unusual feel.
