I am getting used to the features of my subjects for this portrait. Both people have quite complicated faces, very unusual shapes and eyes. As I want this painting to be really good and as I have to combine the photographs to create a cohesive composition I need to do my homework. in order to familiarize myself with their faces, expressions and personality I am doing preliminary sketches first. plus I get to use my great liquid graphite pencils!

I think the final piece is going to be interesting. the main issue is that I am going to change the light qualities for interior candle light. that should be an interesting challenge!
