Still Procrastinating..

For the people who this it is all fun and games being an artist and the easiest job in the world, well phew!… orders made through Boundless Gallery and bought more canvasses for the paintings I am doing for the upcoming show…. I am thinking of adding some of the impasto paintings into the show as well for visual interest and difference and to save my poor bod.

Bawdily Fluids

New York Blade Online: WARNING: THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS EXTREMELY GRAPHIC CONTENT AND DEPICTIONS THAT MAY DISTURB. Signs such as this are plastered all over P.S.1 Art Center’s exhibit “Into Me/Out of Me” in this MoMA-affiliated museum in Queens. Curated by Klaus Biesenbach, it’s an audacious, exhilarating and occasionally nauseating group show, whose theme is all of what passes into and out of the human body.

Now Copyblogger is talking to me too!

You’re not sure what the problem is, but the piece is not coming together the way you thought it would…. Bad Chi I personally believe a painting should have a lovely flow to it from the different focal points, lovely lines and curves that allow the eyes to flow around them…. Detail Dump Detail is great but can weigh down a painting as well, know where to use detail and where to use beautiful simplicity.

Procrastination

urg, I am trying to write a press release.. It’s amazing how many things are more fun than writing marketing materials!… Painted last night and yesterday afternoon, One work is nearly done, one more glaze should do it- the second one was a bit harder to get out, especially for one that has been in my head for so long. I find, when an image has been plaguing me to get down on canvas I get so excited to put it down but I tend to be rougher on them- I think I am more critical when there is a clear image in my head.

Website Down

Liquid Purple are currently adding a new server which is great, but in the meantime it means my site is down which sucks…. I am redirecting my URL to here for now so there is something for people to see. The new upgrades are going to be brilliant, but I am a touch worried about what will happen to my site traffic momentum…

W00T!

The TAC payment seems to be finally sorted out and I awoke to an email from BoundlessGallery.com to tell me that I sold this painting!… good communication and information for everything, I woke up feeling better too. Thanks to all my well wishers, now that everything has been adjusted it is settling down a bit, I am hoping that all my work trying to build up my strength will assist in a speedier recovery.

Hype Revisited

I am working on a piece that I am thrilled with for the new show, and I have so many thoughts for this new series….. My Chiropractor beat me up today, he went to a conference recently and decided today to address my skull. The whole thing is twisted since the accident and is sitting entirely wrong.

How I am Going to Get What I Want.

My ongoing blog project 5 Simple Steps to Owning My Career has slowed down due to planning my new show but a new Group Blog Project over at ProBlogger has given me new impetus to move ahead. I have defined my Influences, my self and my goals, now it is time to move ahead with the exciting part, how to get what I want!

The Universe is talking to me…

And to answer the often unasked question, “Yes, you can still have it all, no matter what others in your life might think, say or do.”… The Universe Sure, I’d keep your studio, but the hula hoops, tutus and sparkly suits…? I always get a bit of a lift from them, they are inspirational but not soppy and frequently have random silliness.

What is a Nude?

From Flesh to Poetry: “The nude is not the subject of subject of art, but a form of art.” So wrote Kenneth Clark, who distinguished in his great 1956 book “The Nude” between a naked body — that is, one merely caught without clothes on — and a nude, “the most complete example of the transmutation of matter into form.” I just love this quote. It’s a beautiful definition of the nude art form.
