Ok. I don’t know where I was when I painted this. No honestly this is so different from anything I have ever done before. I think it is very very dark and brooding but the bizarre thing in this piece is the technique. It is actually a charcoal drawing technique I have used. You know how it is always said you shouldn’t draw with your paintbrush? Well, this is painting to create a very drawing like effect. It is nothing like anything I have ever done. It is distorted, almost abstracted and sketchy. The photo doesn’t do it justice as usual but that is never the case.

I have been in a charcoal drawing mood lately so that may have something to do with it. I had just finished the pink nude and was still in the zone and decided to try a subject I wasn’t thrilled with. So I needed to turn it into something that did excite me. I think this is good practice for later. I seem to have a facination with shape connexions and flow. this may be my thing right now,

Meaning – this is really dark and disturbing. it s a heavy painting and I probably need to analyze it more before I decide what it really means.
